Synopsis
Say "I love you". is a 2012 romance drama anime with 13 episodes. It was made by the studio Zexcs and is based on the manga by Kanae Hazuki. It is set at a high school in modern Japan. It is a realistic story about love, friendship and trust.
Mei Tachibana is a quiet 16-year-old girl who has not had a single friend for years. When she was a child, her friends turned on her and blamed her for something she did not do. Since then, she has kept everyone away. She believes that friends will always hurt you in the end.
Yamato Kurosawa is the most popular boy in school. He is handsome and friendly, and almost everyone likes him. One day, after a prank by his friends, Mei thinks Yamato has done something rude to her. She kicks him hard in front of everyone. Instead of getting angry, Yamato becomes interested in her.
Yamato gives Mei his phone number. Later, when a stranger follows her home from work, she is scared and calls him. Yamato comes to help. To protect her, he kisses her in front of the man. After this, Yamato says he wants to be her boyfriend.
Mei does not know how to trust anyone, and dating the most popular boy in school brings new problems. The show follows Mei as she slowly learns to open up, make friends and let herself be loved.
