Synopsis
Blue Spring Ride is a 2014 romantic drama anime with 12 episodes. It was made by Production I.G and is based on the manga by Io Sakisaka. It is set at a high school in a Japanese city.
In middle school, Futaba Yoshioka was a sweet and girly girl. Other girls did not like how popular she was with boys, so they pushed her away. The only boy she liked was Kou Tanaka, a quiet and gentle classmate. The two of them planned to go to a summer festival together, but Kou never came. Soon after, he moved away without saying goodbye.
Now Futaba is in high school. She has decided to act loud and unfeminine on purpose, so the other girls will not hate her.
One day, Futaba sees Kou again. He has come back to the city and goes to her school. But he is now called Kou Mabuchi, and he has changed a lot. He is cool and distant, and he does not seem to care about the past.
Futaba wants to know what happened to him. To be closer to him and to stop pretending, she makes a change in her own life and becomes class representative. Kou and a few other classmates join her on the class committee. The series follows Futaba as she tries to reach the Kou she once knew, while she and her new friends learn to be honest with each other.
