Shangri-La Frontier

Shangri-La Frontier is a 2023 action fantasy anime, and this first season has 25 episodes. It was made by the studio C2C and is based on the manga by Katarina and Ryosuke Fuji. It is set in the near future, when people can play games in full virtual reality.

Rakuro Hizutome is a high school student with a strange hobby. He loves trash games, which are buggy and badly made games that most people hate. He has beaten many of them, and he enjoys the challenge. In games, he plays as Sunraku, a character with a bird mask and almost no clothes.

One day, Rakuro decides to try something new. He buys Shangri-La Frontier, a huge fantasy VR game that everyone calls a god-tier game. It has around 30 million players and a world that feels almost real.

Rakuro starts from zero with a new character. He does not use a guide, and he plays in his own odd way. The skills he learned from bad games help him in surprising ways. He moves fast, finds hidden tricks and takes on enemies far above his level.

Soon, he runs into one of the most dangerous monsters in the game. This meeting pulls him toward secrets that no other player has found yet. Along the way, he also meets other skilled gamers. The show mixes big boss fights with gaming jokes.
