Synopsis
Log Horizon is a 2013 fantasy adventure anime, and this first season has 25 episodes. It was made by the studio Satelight and is based on the light novels by Mamare Touno. Most of the story takes place inside the world of an online fantasy game called Elder Tale.
Elder Tale is a very popular online game with millions of players. When a new expansion is released, about 30,000 Japanese players who are logged in at that moment are suddenly pulled into the game world. They now live inside the bodies of their game characters. They can feel hunger, pain and tiredness. If they die in battle, they come back to life at the cathedral, but nobody knows how to get home.
Shiroe is a quiet young man who plays as an Enchanter, a support class. He is a veteran player who knows the game very well and is good at making plans. He teams up with his old friend Naotsugu, a cheerful guardian, and Akatsuki, a small but skilled assassin.
In the city of Akiba, the players fall into chaos. Strong guilds bully weaker players, and there is no law or order. The people of the land, who used to be simple game characters, now have their own lives and feelings.
Shiroe decides he cannot just watch. He creates his own guild, Log Horizon, and starts to plan how to bring order to the city. The series follows Shiroe and his friends as they try to build a fair society in this new world.
