Synopsis
No Game No Life is a 2014 fantasy comedy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by the studio Madhouse and is based on the light novels by Yuu Kamiya. The story starts in our world and then moves to a fantasy world where games decide everything.
Sora and Shiro are a brother and sister who rarely leave their room. Sora is 18 and Shiro is 11. They do not go to school or work, and they are awkward around other people. But online, they are famous. Together they play as "Blank", a team that has never lost a single game.
One day, they get a strange email that challenges them to a game of chess. They win. The sender turns out to be Tet, a god from another world. Tet invites them to live in his world, and they say yes.
This world is called Disboard. Here, violence is not allowed. Every conflict, from small arguments to wars between nations, is settled by games. Sixteen different races live in Disboard, and humans are the weakest of them all. They have only one small kingdom left, called Elkia.
In Elkia, Sora and Shiro meet Stephanie Dola, the granddaughter of the late king. The kingdom is about to choose a new ruler through a contest of games. The siblings decide to enter. The series follows Sora and Shiro as they use their skills to help humanity and challenge the other races.
