Synopsis
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 2 Part 2 is the 2021 second half of the dark fantasy anime's second season. It has 12 episodes and was made by the studio White Fox, based on the light novels by Tappei Nagatsuki. It follows straight on from the first part of the second season.
Subaru Natsuki is a young man from Japan who was pulled into a fantasy world. His only special power is Return by Death. Each time he dies, time goes back to an earlier point, and he gets another try. He is the only one who remembers what happened, and he cannot tell anyone about it.
Subaru and his friends are still dealing with the problems of the Sanctuary. This is a hidden place near Roswaal's lands, and the people there are trapped by a strong barrier. To free them, someone must pass a series of hard trials that force them to face their past, their present and their future. Emilia is struggling with the trials, and she has doubts about herself.
At the same time, danger grows at Roswaal's mansion, where more of Subaru's friends are. Subaru must find a way to protect both places at once. He also has to deal with people who have their own secret plans, and with a mysterious witch who offers to help him.
The season follows Subaru as he uses Return by Death again and again to find a path where everyone is saved.
