Synopsis
ERASED is a 2016 mystery thriller anime with 12 episodes. It was made by A-1 Pictures and is based on the manga by Kei Sanbe. The story moves between the year 2006 and the year 1988 in Japan.
Satoru Fujinuma is 29 years old. He wants to be a manga artist, but his work is not selling, so he delivers pizza to pay the bills. He keeps other people at a distance, and he does not like to show his feelings.
Satoru has a strange ability that he calls Revival. Sometimes, just before something bad happens, he is sent back in time by a few minutes. He then has to find what is wrong and fix it. One day he uses this power to save a child from a truck, but he is badly hurt himself. His mother, Sachiko, comes to stay with him while he gets better.
Soon after, a terrible crime happens to someone close to Satoru, and the police think he did it. As he runs, his Revival sends him back much further than ever before. He wakes up 18 years in the past, as an 11 year old boy in Hokkaido.
Satoru remembers that a girl in his class, Kayo Hinazuki, went missing that winter. She was one of several children taken by an unknown kidnapper. Now Satoru has a chance to change what happened. The series follows him as he tries to save Kayo and find the person behind the crimes.
