Synopsis
ReLIFE is a 2016 school comedy drama anime with 13 episodes. It was made by TMS Entertainment and is based on the web manga by Yayoiso. It is set in modern Japan, mostly at a normal high school.
Arata Kaizaki is 27 years old, and his life is not going well. He quit his first job after only three months, and now he cannot find a new one. He lies to his parents and tells them he is still working.
One night, a young man named Ryo Yoake appears in front of him. Ryo works for the ReLIFE Research Institute. He offers Arata a strange deal. If Arata takes a special pill, he will look 17 years old again. He will then spend one year as a high school student as part of an experiment. If he finishes the program, the institute will help him find a job.
Arata has nothing to lose, so he agrees. The next morning, he wakes up in the body of a teenager. He starts his third year of high school again, with no idea how to fit in.
High school is harder than he remembers. He is bad at tests and does not understand teen life anymore. But he makes new friends, like the smart but awkward Chizuru Hishiro and the sporty Kazuomi Oga. The series follows Arata as he lives his youth again and starts to face the reasons his adult life went wrong.
