Synopsis
The Pet Girl of Sakurasou is a 2012 romantic comedy drama anime with 24 episodes. It was made by the studio J.C.Staff and is based on the light novels by Hajime Kamoshida. It is set at Suimei High School of the Arts, a special art school in Japan.

Sorata Kanda is a second year high school student. He was forced to leave the normal school dorm because he kept a stray cat there. Now he lives in Sakurasou, a dorm for students that the school sees as problems. The other people living there are very talented, but also very strange. Sorata feels like the only normal person, and he wants to move out as soon as he can find homes for all his cats.

One day, his teacher asks him to meet a new student who is moving into Sakurasou. Her name is Mashiro Shiina. She is a genius painter who is already famous around the world. But Mashiro cannot take care of herself at all. She cannot dress herself properly, clean her room or even buy food.

Sorata soon becomes her helper, and he is put in charge of looking after her every day. Mashiro tells him that she wants to stop painting and become a manga artist instead.

Living around such gifted people makes Sorata question his own dream of making video games. The series follows Sorata, Mashiro and the other Sakurasou residents as they chase their goals and deal with their feelings.
