Synopsis
Kokoro Connect is a 2012 supernatural drama anime with 13 TV episodes and 4 extra episodes. It was made by Silver Link and is based on the light novel series by Sadanatsu Anda. It is set at Yamaboshi Academy, a normal high school in Japan.
Five students make up the school's Student Cultural Society club. Taichi Yaegashi is a kind boy who loves pro wrestling and always puts others first. Iori Nagase is cheerful and full of energy. Himeko Inaba is smart and sharp-tongued. Yui Kiriyama is a small girl who is good at karate but is scared of boys. Yoshifumi Aoki is a relaxed, funny boy who is openly in love with Yui.
One day, strange things start to happen. Two of them suddenly switch bodies. Then it happens again and again, to different pairs, at random times. They cannot control it and do not know when it will stop.
Soon a being who calls himself Heartseed takes over the body of their teacher. He tells them he is the one causing the swaps, and that he is doing it because it is interesting to watch.
Living in each other's bodies means they cannot hide much. Private thoughts, worries and old wounds start to come out. The five friends must learn to trust each other and face the parts of themselves they have kept hidden. The show mixes comedy with serious emotional drama.
