Synopsis
Kiznaiver is a 2016 science fiction drama anime with 12 episodes. It is an original story made by Studio Trigger and written by Mari Okada. It is set in Sugomori City, a quiet town built on land that was reclaimed from the sea.
Katsuhira Agata is a high school student who cannot feel pain. He also shows very little emotion, and he does not fight back when people bully him.
One day, Katsuhira and several classmates are chosen for a secret experiment called the Kizuna System. A strange and cold girl named Noriko Sonozaki tells them they are now Kiznaivers. Their bodies are linked, so when one of them gets hurt, everyone in the group shares the pain. The goal of the system is to create world peace by making people truly understand each other's pain.
The Kiznaivers are very different people who would never be friends normally. There is Chidori, Katsuhira's caring childhood friend; Tenga, a tough fighter; Nico, a strange girl who acts like a fairy; Honoka, a cold and sharp girl; Yuta, a popular boy who wants to be liked; and Hajime, a calm and smart student. Now they must work together and take on missions that force them to open up.
As they learn more about each other, they also find out that sharing pain is not the same as sharing feelings. The series follows Katsuhira and the other Kiznaivers as they deal with their bond and learn what it really means to connect with others.
