Cheng Xiaoshi has the power to jump into a photo. When he does, he enters the body of the person who took it, at the moment the photo was taken. He can then live through the next 12 hours of that person's life. Lu Guang has a different power. He can see what happened after the photo was taken, and he guides Cheng Xiaoshi through the job.
The clients want many things. Some want to find something that was lost. Others want to learn the truth about a person they loved. Lu Guang has one strict rule. Cheng Xiaoshi must not change the past. But Cheng Xiaoshi has a kind heart and hates to see people suffer, so he finds this rule hard to follow.
Qiao Ling, their cheerful landlady, finds the clients and handles the money. Each case starts as its own short story, but the cases slowly lead to a bigger mystery.
