The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 is the third season of the fantasy action anime The Rising of the Shield Hero. It aired in 2023 with 12 episodes and was made by Kinema Citrus. It is based on the light novel series by Aneko Yusagi. The story is set in a fantasy world where giant waves of monsters attack from other worlds.

Naofumi Iwatani was summoned from Japan to be one of four legendary heroes. He was chosen as the Shield Hero, who can only defend and cannot attack with a weapon. At first, he was falsely accused of a crime and treated badly. Over time, he built a loyal team, including Raphtalia, a raccoon demi-human girl, and Filo, a bird monster who can take human form.

At the start of this season, the other three heroes have gone missing. Naofumi wants to make Raphtalia's home village strong again. To do this, he needs money to buy back demi-humans who were sold as slaves.

Naofumi, Raphtalia and Filo travel to Zeltoble, a country of merchants. There, they fight in an underground arena in disguise to win prize money. They face a mysterious fighter who seems to know Raphtalia. Naofumi also meets Fohl and Atla, a pair of white tiger siblings, and one of them is badly hurt.

The season follows Naofumi as he builds a new village, trains new allies and prepares for the next wave.
