The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 is the 2022 second season of the fantasy action anime. It has 13 episodes and was made by Kinema Citrus and DR Movie, based on the light novels by Aneko Yusagi. It picks up soon after the end of the first season.

Naofumi Iwatani is a college student from Japan who was pulled into a fantasy world as the Shield Hero, one of the Four Cardinal Heroes. His shield lets him defend, but he cannot attack. At first, he was hated and falsely accused of a crime. Now his name has been cleared, and he has a loyal team, including the swordswoman Raphtalia, the bird girl Filo and the young princess Melty.

The heroes must protect the world from the Waves, great disasters that bring hordes of monsters. Naofumi wants to get stronger, and he still does not trust the other three heroes much.

Then a new danger appears. A huge creature called the Spirit Tortoise wakes up and begins to move across the land. It is as big as a mountain and destroys everything in its path. Cities and countries are in danger, and the other heroes cannot be found.

Naofumi and his friends go to face the beast. Along the way, they meet a mysterious woman who seems to know a lot about the Spirit Tortoise. The season follows Naofumi and his team as they fight this giant threat and learn that the Waves hide more secrets than they thought.
