Synopsis
91 Days is a 2016 crime drama anime with 12 episodes. It was made by Studio Shuka and is an original story, not based on a manga or novel. It is set in the United States during Prohibition, when selling alcohol was against the law. The story takes place in a town called Lawless, where mafia families fight over the illegal alcohol trade.
Angelo Lagusa was a young boy when men from the Vanetti family murdered his father, mother and little brother in front of him. He ran away and survived. Seven years later, he lives under a new name, Avilio Bruno. One day he gets a letter from someone he does not know. The letter tells him who killed his family.
Avilio goes back to Lawless with one goal. He wants revenge on the Vanetti family. He meets his childhood friend Corteo, a gentle young man who makes alcohol in secret. Avilio pulls Corteo into his plan.
To get close to the Vanettis, Avilio makes friends with Nero, the son of the family's boss. Nero is loud and bold, and he starts to trust Avilio. Step by step, Avilio works his way into the family from the inside.
The show is a serious and violent story about revenge, loyalty and friendship. It has shootouts and killings, so it is best for older viewers. It follows Avilio as he tries to keep his real identity secret while living among the people he hates.
