Attack on Titan Season 1 is a dark fantasy action anime from 2013. Its world is ruled by Titans, giant creatures that hunt and eat people. For about 100 years, the last humans have lived inside a city surrounded by three huge walls. The walls keep the Titans out, and most people believe they are safe.
Eren Yeager is a boy who lives in Shiganshina, a town on the edge of the outer wall. He hates feeling trapped and dreams of seeing the world outside. He wants to join the Survey Corps, the soldiers who leave the walls to fight Titans. His adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and his best friend Armin Arlert are always by his side. One day, a Titan taller than the walls appears and breaks a hole in the gate. The attack changes Eren's life forever.
Full of anger, Eren swears he will destroy every Titan. When he is old enough, he joins the army's training corps with Mikasa and Armin. There, they learn to use special gear that lets soldiers fly between buildings and cut down Titans with swords. Training is hard, and Eren must prove he can become a real soldier.
The show mixes action, horror and mystery. Nobody knows where the Titans came from or why they attack humans. Season 1 has 25 episodes and was made by Wit Studio. It is based on the manga by Hajime Isayama.
