Synopsis
Daily Lives of High School Boys is a 2012 comedy anime with 12 episodes. It was made by Sunrise and is based on the manga by Yasunobu Yamauchi. It is set at Sanada North High School, an all-boys school in Japan. There is no big story. Each episode is a set of short, funny scenes.
The show mainly follows three friends. Tadakuni is the most normal of the three, and he often ends up as the target of the jokes. Hidenori wears glasses and loves to act out dramatic scenes. Yoshitake is loud and full of silly ideas. Together, they spend their free time making up games, acting out fantasy adventures and talking about things they do not really understand, like girls.
Many other students appear too. There are other boys from their school, the scary girls from the student council of the nearby girls' school and a quiet girl who reads by the river. The boys often try to act cool, but it rarely works.
Most of the humor comes from how the boys blow small things out of proportion. A simple walk home can turn into a big drama. A short talk with a girl can become a total disaster.
The show also has short skits between the main scenes, such as a series about a high school girl who is surprisingly like the boys. It is a light, easy comedy about the strange and fun side of being a teenage boy.
