Synopsis
JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1 is the 2026 third season of the dark fantasy action anime. It has 12 episodes and was made by the studio MAPPA, based on the manga by Gege Akutami. It picks up right after the end of the Shibuya Incident in the second season.
In this world, negative human feelings create monsters called curses. Jujutsu sorcerers use cursed energy to fight them. Yuji Itadori is a high school student and a sorcerer. His body also holds Sukuna, a very powerful and evil curse.
After the events in Shibuya, Japan is in chaos. Curses roam freely, and many people have died. Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer, has been sealed away. The leaders of the jujutsu world have also turned against Yuji. They want him dead, and they have sent a special sorcerer to hunt him down.
At the same time, a new danger begins. A mysterious villain has started a deadly game across Japan called the Culling Game. People with cursed powers are forced to take part and fight each other inside special areas cut off from the outside world. Players earn points by defeating others, and those who break the rules die.
Yuji, Megumi Fushiguro and their allies learn more about the Culling Game and the plan behind it. They decide to enter the game to change its rules, save the people trapped inside and find a way to free Gojo. The season follows them as they split up and face dangerous new players.
