Synopsis
Magi: The Kingdom of Magic is the second season of the fantasy adventure anime Magi. It aired from 2013 to 2014 with 25 episodes and was made by A-1 Pictures. It is based on the manga by Shinobu Ohtaka. The story is set in a world inspired by the Arabian Nights, with deserts, great kingdoms and powerful magic.
Aladdin is a young and cheerful boy who is a Magi, a rare magician chosen by the world's spirits. His best friend Alibaba is a young man who has conquered a dungeon and can fight with the power of a djinn. Their friend Morgiana is a strong and loyal girl from the Fanalis tribe.
After their adventures in the first season, the three know they are not strong enough yet. Dark forces are working behind the scenes, and a war between kingdoms may be coming. So they decide to split up and train on their own.
Aladdin heads to Magnostadt, a country run by magicians, to study at its magic academy. Alibaba travels to the Reim Empire to become a better fighter. Morgiana wants to go to the Dark Continent to learn about her people's roots. Before they part ways, they travel together for a time, and they fight pirates and meet new friends along the way.
The season follows each of them as they grow stronger, and it slowly pulls them into a much larger conflict between nations. The show mixes adventure, magic battles and politics.
