Synopsis
The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of the Gods is the 2019 third season of the fantasy action anime. It has 24 episodes and was made by Studio Deen, based on the manga by Nakaba Suzuki. It picks up right after the end of the second season.
The Seven Deadly Sins are a group of legendary knights from the Kingdom of Liones. Their captain is Meliodas, a cheerful young man with great power. The team also includes Elizabeth, the princess who first went looking for them, and members like Ban, King, Diane, Merlin, Gowther and Escanor.
The Ten Commandments, the strongest warriors of the Demon Clan, have been freed after 3,000 years. They have taken over large parts of the land of Britannia. Each Commandment has a curse that punishes anyone who breaks a certain rule. The Sins and the Holy Knights of Liones must find a way to fight back.
As the season opens, the Sins face one of the most dangerous Commandments in a hard battle. At the same time, some of the Sins take part in a strange trial that sends their minds far into the past. There, they see the Great Holy War between the races 3,000 years ago and learn secrets about their own history.
Meanwhile, Meliodas's past and his link to the Demon Clan become more important. The season follows the Seven Deadly Sins as they grow stronger, unite the kingdoms and prepare for a new holy war.
