Synopsis
The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is a 2010 science fiction film made by Kyoto Animation. It is based on the fourth light novel in the Haruhi Suzumiya series by Nagaru Tanigawa. It follows the TV series and runs for almost three hours. It is set at a high school in a Japanese town during the cold month of December.

Kyon is a normal high school boy. He is a member of the SOS Brigade, a strange school club led by Haruhi Suzumiya. Haruhi is loud and bossy, and she is always looking for aliens, time travelers and people with special powers. Without knowing it, she has the power to change reality. The other club members are secretly an alien, a time traveler and an esper, and they watch over her. Kyon is the only normal person in the group.

On the morning of December 18, Kyon goes to school as usual. But something is wrong. Haruhi is not there, and no one in class remembers her at all. The SOS Brigade does not exist. A girl who once tried to kill him is back in class and acts like nothing happened. His friends from the club do not know who he is, and they seem to be completely normal people.

Kyon is the only one who remembers the world as it was. He must find out what happened and decide which world he truly wants to live in. The film is a slow, thoughtful mystery about choice and friendship.
