Synopsis
The Seven Deadly Sins is a 2014 fantasy action anime, and this first season has 24 episodes. It was made by A-1 Pictures and is based on the manga by Nakaba Suzuki. It is set in the Kingdom of Liones, in a world of knights, giants, fairies and magic that looks like medieval Britain.
Ten years ago, the Seven Deadly Sins were the strongest group of knights in the kingdom. Then they were accused of a plot to overthrow the king. The group broke up, and each member went into hiding. People still talk about them as dangerous criminals.
Now the kingdom is in trouble again. The Holy Knights, who are meant to protect the people, have taken control. They rule by fear and treat the common people badly.
Elizabeth is the third princess of Liones. She runs away from the castle in a suit of rusty armor to look for the Seven Deadly Sins. She believes they are the only ones who can stop the Holy Knights. After a long search, she collapses in a small traveling bar called the Boar Hat.
The owner of the bar is Meliodas, a cheerful young man who looks like a boy. He runs the bar with Hawk, a talking pig. Meliodas turns out to be the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins. He agrees to help Elizabeth.
The season follows Meliodas and Elizabeth as they travel across the kingdom to find the other members, while the Holy Knights hunt them down.
