Synopsis
To Your Eternity is a 2021 fantasy drama anime, and this first season has 20 episodes. It was made by the studio Brain's Base and is based on the manga by Yoshitoki Oima, the creator of A Silent Voice. The story is set in a world that looks like our own ancient past, with tribes, villages and kingdoms.
At the start, a mysterious being sends a small white orb to Earth. The orb has no mind and no feelings. It can take the shape of anything that leaves a strong mark on it. First it becomes a rock. Then it becomes moss, and later a wolf that is badly hurt.
As a wolf, it meets a young boy who lives alone in a frozen land. The boy's family left to find a better place long ago. He treats the wolf as his friend. When the boy's story comes to an end, the orb takes on his shape. It now looks like a human boy, but it does not know how to speak or act like one.
The orb, later named Fushi, starts to travel. It can heal from almost any wound, and it can change into any form it has taken before. In a village called Ninannah, it meets March, a lively young girl who has her own problems. She decides to look after Fushi and teach him how to live.
The series follows Fushi as he meets new people, learns about pain and love, and slowly becomes more human.
