Witch Hat Atelier

Witch Hat Atelier is a 2026 fantasy anime with 13 episodes. It was made by BUG FILMS and is based on the manga by Kamome Shirahama. It is set in a gentle fantasy world where witches use magic by drawing special symbols with ink.

Coco is a young girl who lives with her mother, a dressmaker, in a small village. Coco loves magic more than anything. She dreams of becoming a witch one day. But everyone knows that only people born with magic can become witches, and Coco is a normal girl.

One day, a witch named Qifrey comes to Coco's home to fix a carriage. Coco secretly watches him work. For the first time, she sees that magic is not a gift you are born with. It is drawn with ink, using special marks. When she was a child, a strange man in a brimmed hat sold her a picture book. Coco now realizes that it is actually a book of spells.

Excited, Coco tries to draw a spell herself. But things go terribly wrong. Her spell turns her mother and their house to crystal.

Magic is supposed to be a secret from normal people, so Coco could get into serious trouble. Qifrey takes her in as his apprentice, and she moves to his workshop with three other young witches in training. The series follows Coco as she learns magic, makes new friends and searches for a way to save her mother.
