Synopsis
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 is the 2026 second season of the fantasy drama anime. It has 10 episodes and was made by the studio Madhouse, based on the manga by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. It picks up after the end of the first season.
Frieren is an elf mage who can live for more than a thousand years. Long ago, she helped the hero Himmel and his party defeat the Demon King. After her old friends grew old and passed on, she began to travel again to understand people better. She now travels north with her apprentice, Fern, a serious young mage, and Stark, a warrior who is strong but often nervous.
The three of them keep heading toward the far north, where Frieren hopes to reach a place connected to the souls of the dead.
In the first episodes, the group gets trapped in a cave full of crystals that stop all magic. Frieren and Fern cannot use spells, so Stark must protect them. Later, they visit a town with a statue of a different hero, and they learn more about the past. They also search for a hidden hot spring in the mountains.
Stark and Fern also try to understand their own feelings for each other. Like the first season, the show has a calm pace with gentle humor. The season follows Frieren, Fern and Stark as they travel north, help the people they meet and remember the old party.
