Synopsis
Charlotte is a 2015 drama anime with supernatural elements. It has 13 episodes and was made by the studio P.A. Works. It is an original story written by Jun Maeda, who also wrote Angel Beats! The story is set in modern Japan.
In this world, a small number of teenagers develop special powers when they reach puberty. Each power is limited in some way, and it usually goes away when they become adults. Most people do not know these powers exist.
Yuu Otosaka is a high school student who can take control of another person's body for five seconds. He uses this power in secret to cheat on tests and get into a top school. He wants to live an easy and popular life, and he does not feel bad about how he gets there.
One day, a girl named Nao Tomori catches him. She is the student council president at Hoshinoumi Academy, a school made for students with powers. She makes Yuu transfer there, and he has to move with his cheerful younger sister, Ayumi. At the school, the students are safe from scientists who want to study them.
Nao puts Yuu to work on the student council. Their job is to find other teens who are using their powers in public and bring them to the school before someone else finds them. The series follows Yuu as he takes on these missions and starts to see his power, and his life, in a new way.
