Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu

Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu is a 2017 supernatural film made by the studio Shaft. It is the last part of a three-film series based on the light novel Kizumonogatari by NisiOisiN. It is part of the Monogatari series and takes place before Bakemonogatari. It has strong violence and some suggestive scenes, so it is best for adult viewers.

The story is set in a small Japanese town during spring break. Koyomi Araragi is a high school boy who once found a dying vampire named Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade. She had lost her arms and legs. To save her, Koyomi gave her his blood, and he was turned into a vampire himself.

In the first two films, Koyomi fought three powerful vampire hunters to win back Kiss-shot's missing limbs. Now all the parts have been returned. Kiss-shot is almost back to her full power. Koyomi believes that once she is whole, she will turn him back into a human, as she promised.

Koyomi is helped by Meme Oshino, a relaxed man who deals with strange spirits, and by Tsubasa Hanekawa, a kind and very smart classmate who has become his friend. But as Kiss-shot grows stronger, Koyomi begins to feel that he may not fully understand the creature he saved.

The film brings the story to its end. It is a dark and emotional story about responsibility, sacrifice and the price of kindness.
