Overlord II

Overlord II is the 2018 second season of the dark fantasy anime. It has 13 episodes and was made by the studio Madhouse, based on the light novels by Kugane Maruyama. It picks up after the end of the first season.

Ainz Ooal Gown was once a normal player in a virtual reality game. When the game shut down, he was trapped in a new world as his character, a powerful skeleton wizard. His loyal servants from the Great Tomb of Nazarick came with him, and they are now alive. Ainz rules them and secretly works to grow his power in this world.

The first part of this season takes place near a large lake. Several tribes of lizardmen live there. They are proud warriors who follow their own traditions. One day, a messenger from Nazarick appears and tells them that they will be destroyed in eight days.

Zaryusu Shasha is a young lizardman who has traveled outside his tribe and seen more of the world. He knows the tribes must stop fighting each other and unite to have any chance. He sets out to convince the other tribes, and he meets Crusch Lulu, the leader of another tribe.

Ainz sends Cocytus, one of Nazarick's strongest guardians, to lead the attack. Later in the season, the story also moves to the human kingdom of Re-Estize, where Sebas, the butler of Nazarick, is on a secret mission. The season follows both sides as Nazarick's power spreads across the land.
