The Eminence in Shadow Season 2

The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 is the second season of the action comedy anime The Eminence in Shadow. It aired in 2023 with 12 episodes and was made by the studio Nexus. It is based on the light novel series by Daisuke Aizawa. The story is set in a fantasy world with magic, swords and noble families.

Cid Kagenou was reborn in this world after he died in Japan. His dream is to be a hidden hero who controls events from the shadows. In public, he acts like a boring student. In secret, he is Shadow, the leader of Shadow Garden. His followers are powerful young women who fight a secret group called the Cult of Diablos. Cid thinks most of it is a fun game he made up, but his followers take it very seriously.

At the start of this season, Cid heads to the Lawless City, a dangerous place outside the law. Three powerful rulers control the city. One of them, a vampire called the Blood Queen, is about to wake up from a long sleep. Many people want to use this for their own plans.

Cid sees a chance to play the mysterious hero again. Members of Shadow Garden also arrive in the city with their own mission. Later in the season, trouble also grows in the Oriana Kingdom, home of the princess Rose Oriana.

The show mixes big fights with comedy about Cid's many misunderstandings.
