This season begins after the battle in the water city of Priestella. The fight is over, but it left deep wounds. One of the enemies, called Gluttony, has eaten the names and memories of several people. Now almost no one remembers who they are. Among them is Julius, a knight and Subaru's rival.

Subaru, Emilia, Beatrice and their allies set out for the Pleiades Watchtower, a tall and ancient tower in a far desert. People say that a legendary sage lives there and knows everything. The group hopes she can help them save the people who were lost.

But the desert is full of danger. Strange barriers, deadly monsters and attacks from the tower itself stand in their way. The season follows Subaru as he tries again and again to reach the tower and find answers.
