Synopsis
JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 is a 2021 dark fantasy action film made by the studio MAPPA and directed by Sunghoo Park. It runs for about 105 minutes and is based on the prequel manga by Gege Akutami. The story takes place one year before the first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen TV series.
In this world, negative human feelings create dangerous spirits called curses. Jujutsu sorcerers are people who can see curses and fight them with a power called cursed energy.
Yuta Okkotsu is a shy high school boy with a sad past. When he was a child, his best friend Rika Orimoto died in an accident. Before she died, they promised to get married one day. Now Rika has become a very powerful curse, and she follows Yuta everywhere. When anyone hurts him, Rika attacks them.
The jujutsu world sees Yuta as a threat. But Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer alive, takes him in instead. Gojo brings Yuta to Tokyo Jujutsu High, a secret school that trains young sorcerers. There, Yuta meets his new classmates. Maki Zenin is a tough fighter who uses special weapons. Toge Inumaki can only speak in rice ball ingredients, because his words have power. Panda is, somehow, a talking panda.
Yuta starts to learn how to control Rika's power and make real friends. But a dangerous man from Gojo's past has his own plans for Yuta. The film follows Yuta as he learns to fight for the people he cares about.
